Privacy policy: Export YouTube Playlist to CSV / Excel
Effective 12 October 2026.
This extension does not send your data to me or to anyone else. It has no server of its own and no analytics. Here is what it reads, what it keeps on your computer and which sites it talks to.
What it reads
When you click the toolbar icon on a YouTube page, the extension reads the playlist in that tab: video titles, links, channel names, durations, view counts, publish dates and thumbnail links. To get every row it asks youtube.com for the rest of the playlist the same way the page does when you scroll, from your tab and with your existing YouTube session. It does not read your Google password and it does not change anything on your account.
What it keeps on your computer
- Your settings (default format, columns, a few switches), in Chrome's extension storage.
- The last scan of each tab, in Chrome's session storage, until you close the tab or the browser. That is what lets you close the popup and download later.
- If you have Pro and leave "Change since last export" on: for each playlist you exported, the video IDs, a fingerprint of each row and the first 80 characters of each title. This is how the next export can show what was added or removed. "Forget previous exports" on the options page deletes it.
- Whether Pro is active, and the email address you paid with, as reported by ExtensionPay.
Files you export go straight to your Downloads folder (or your clipboard, for "Copy URLs").
Sites it contacts
- youtube.com, from your YouTube tab, to load the playlist rows you asked for.
- extensionpay.com, which handles the Pro purchase. When you open the payment page, or when the extension checks whether Pro is active, it sends a random key the extension created for this install. No playlist data is sent. Payments are processed by Stripe through ExtensionPay; their privacy policy applies to the payment: https://extensionpay.com/privacy
- accounts.google.com and www.googleapis.com, only if the optional YouTube Data API mode is set up and you switch it on. You sign in with Google in a Chrome window, and the extension then asks the YouTube Data API for the playlist with read-only access. The access token is kept in session storage and dropped when Chrome closes.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
