Privacy policy for Export Bookmarks & History to CSV / Excel
Effective date: 2026-10-12
The extension reads your bookmarks, browsing history and reading list inside Chrome and writes them to files on your computer. None of that data is sent to me, and there are no analytics. It goes online in two cases only: it contacts ExtensionPay to check if you have paid for Pro, and, if you run the optional link check, it contacts the sites you bookmarked.
What it reads
Your bookmarks (titles, URLs, folders and dates) each time you open the popup, and when a scheduled backup runs. Your browsing history (page titles, URLs, visit counts and visit times) only when you load it on the History tab or build the all-data workbook. Your reading list only when you open the Reading list tab or build that workbook. This data is used to show the count and preview and to build the CSV, Excel, HTML or JSON file you asked for.
What it stores on your computer
- Settings (formula protection, the save dialog option and the backup schedule) in Chrome's extension storage. If Chrome sync is on, Chrome copies them between your own profiles.
- The popup filters you last used, so they are still there next time. These stay on this device.
- The time, file name and row count of the last scheduled backup.
- Your Pro status as ExtensionPay reports it: whether and when you paid, and the email address used for the purchase if there was one.
- A random key that ExtensionPay's library creates to identify this install, with its own copy of your Pro status. It keeps these in the same synced storage as the settings.
Exported files go to your Downloads folder. The extension keeps no copy of them.
When it goes online
ExtensionPay license check. Pro is sold through ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), which takes payment through Stripe. The extension asks extensionpay.com whether this install has paid when you open the settings page, when you open the popup and the last check is more than 15 minutes old, and when you click Get Pro, Restore purchase or Refresh status. The request carries the random key described above and no bookmark, history or reading list data. ExtensionPay's privacy policy covers the payment itself: https://extensionpay.com/privacy
Link check (optional, Pro). When you click "Check links" and approve Chrome's permission prompt, the extension sends a HEAD or GET request to every bookmarked URL in the current selection to read its HTTP status. This contacts the sites you bookmarked, and each site sees the request much as it would see a visit from your browser, including your IP address. No cookies are sent. You can revoke the permission on the settings page at any time.
Nothing else goes over the network.
